Data Protection

We recognize that many shareholders are concerned about participating in Internet-based services or programs and fear that their personal information could be intercepted or read by a third party. We consider Internet security a top priority and take special care to ensure the protection and privacy of your personal information.

All information that passes between our company and your computer is put through data encryption -- a sophisticated encoding system, using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol that resides on your browser. SSL encryption scrambles all of the data and without a corresponding "decoder," the message becomes unintelligible. In the unlikely event that a third party tries to eavesdrop or intercept your message, he or she will not be able to view the contents of the message.

Some examples of SSL enabled browsers on Windows based computers are Netscape Navigator 4.7 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 (and higher versions for both). Some examples of SSL enabled browsers on Macintosh computers are Netscape Navigator 4.0 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 (and higher versions for both). When using these browsers, it is easy to see if you are in a secure session. If you are using Netscape Navigator, you will see a solid blue line at the top of the page, and a solid key at the bottom left corner. If the connection is not secure, the key will be broken in half. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, you will see a padlock in the lower right hand corner when the connection is secure. No padlock will be visible if the connection is unsecured. If you are not using one of these browsers and would like to, you can download it from the web.

Certificate Authority Expiration
Did you encounter a dialog box stating 'Certificate Authority Is Expired' when you tried to access one of our secure pages? Simply click Continue: the SSL session that secures your transaction with our site is not affected (SSL still takes place with 100% functionality). You can avoid the dialog box in the future by upgrading your browser.

Users of Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 and prior, or 4.5 for Macintosh and prior, go here get_explorer_now!
